TOP Kenya – The story of Evalyne Cherono – Small scale coffee farmer from Kipkelion, Kenya

The Story of Evaline Cheruiyot from Kasheen, a young lady who has established over 400 new coffee plantations. Through the Happy Soil Method, which includes the Lifelong Foundation technique, we have been training her, and she has truly tapped into her potential. Evaline has set a remarkable example with her dedication and innovation. When we visited her farm in Cashin, we were impressed by the layout, the water retention system, and the size of the planting holes, which were even larger than the standard recommended size. Her plants looked incredibly healthy, and she is continuing to expand her acreage. Evaline, a single mother, manages all this work on her own, with minimal external assistance. Despite common challenges, such as the high cost of digging holes—typically about 30 Kenyan shillings—Evaline has found practical ways to handle these challenges herself. Her farm is growing faster than anyone expected. Her participation in the TOP Kenya – Tapping Our Potential training has clearly had a major impact on her growth. Evaline is a shining example of someone who, upon recognizing her potential, is striving to reach her goals. As she says in her own words: “I’ve not reached my destination yet, but I’m trying my best. Next time when you come, you will see.”
